Belt will naturally move over to one side or the other, won't stay centered so don't sweat it as long as it doesn't rub hard enough to wear.
Tension: Grab the belt with two fingers and wiggle it up and down. If it travels about an inch easily, you're in the right neighborhood.
Or: Suspend the bike with the back wheel off the ground a couple of inches. Put it in neutral and spin the back wheel. Loosen the belt until the wheel spins freely and you don't see any improvement with more loosening. That's the right tension. If it binds really bad when you spin it backward the belt is way too tight. Most dealers set the tension way too tight when they replace a tire so be prepared to correct their mistakes.
